    Tedious

The first Val MacDermid book I have really not enjoyed. Couldn’t connect with the characters and found the story to lack any excitement. Normally her books hook me in and I have to keep listening to find out what happens, mesmerised by the twists and turns. This time I kept listening in the hope it would get better! The mispronunciations littered throughout the performance also didn’t help. Safe to say I won’t be signing up for any more in the Ally Burns series.

    A disappointing narrator

I love Val mcdermid’s writing but couldn’t finish this as the narrator made it very hard to listen to and I just couldn’t get involved in the story.
